Sheer Genius

I am dying over this sheer maxi trend. I used to think that only tall girls could do the maxi thing until i saw little Mary Kate and Ashley sporting this trend. These girls are 5 feet tall.. 5 FEET?! So you vertically challenged girls out there no longer use the "I'm too short for a maxi" excuses anymore!

I love that Ashley paired the maxi with a plunging white v-neck! It's a really great way to create versatility with your wardrobe. This look can easily be transitioned from day to night. Don't forget to add some statement jewelry like this over-sized cross pendant!

These girls have always been such an inspiration to me. From their unique style and entrepreneurial spirit. These girls have displayed nothing, but sheer genius!

Beauty - Word Nails

What you will need:
*Scissors
*Newspaper
*Light Colored Polish
*Base Coat
*Top Coat
*Rubbing Alcohol or Vodka
*Small Ceramic Dish

1. Find a section in a newspaper that you want to copy onto your nails and cut it out. Make sure you cut the pieces to cover each of your nails. maybe you could try using the crossword puzzle, advertisements, or comic strips for some awesome shapes.

2. Varnish your nails by applying a base coat followed by two coats of a nail color of your choice. Use a lighter color, such as pastels, so that your print is visible.

3. Pour rubbing alcohol, or vodka, into a small dish. Once your nails are dry, briefly soak them in alcohol. You can also use vodka as an alternative because this liquid tends to not be as harsh on your polish.

4. Cover your nails with the ten small pieces of paper you cut out earlier. Press down firmly and hold it still for about thirty seconds. Remove the small pieces of paper slowly, so that all of the print is transferred onto your nail.

5. Let your nails dry and apply a top coat to finish them off. I would like to suggest a clear polish with sparkles, just to add a little shimmer into the mix!

Pretty in Pink

While surfing the web trying to find inspiration for my new place I stumbled upon this stylish Gold Coast penthouse. It's the New York residence of a famed fashion designer, Betsey Johnson. She is one of a kind, and so is her NYC penthouse. For one thing, it's pink. Very pink. Betsey's underlying respect for classics always has a sense of edge and fun. This lavish abode is very Fifties-Glamour trimmed in lace, velvet, and gold tassels.
